::: HISTORY

Richard Ouellette grew up in Canada watching his grandfather and uncle cut hair in the barber shop. Richard Ouellette Salon was opened in 1960 in Newport Beach, California. After opening a chain of salons throughout southern California, Richard and wife Connie moved to San Diego and began building their hair tool business.

The HAIclassic Convertable was the first ceramic flat iron. With further advancements in technology, Richard incorporated negative ion technology and tourmaline into all of his styling tools; which are now an industry standard. The business flourished and the products continue to sell themselves based on quality and performance.
